This is one of those lilies that use to grow wild all over Alberta and Saskatchewan. It is protected in some areas and nearly lots in others.

I did this from one of my photos where I found it in the wild growing along a ditch. As far as i know the lily is still there.

the colour is a bit off here the back wing is more of an orange colour and there is a bit of a light blue and white eye on the yellow wing at the top.

 

I picked Coral bells this time as it is a large group of plants. It has many colour variants in what you can find in greenhouses and gardens these days. Mainly in the leaves plus I know I can grow them.

One of the species lilies that grows well for me. I have not had time to finish it off.

 

It is about 12 X 16

 

Also as a note I have in the past been a grower of many lilies. Selling them by mail order and wholesale to other greenhouse. At one point I have just over 400 different varieties in my garden.

Not really sure why but I find butterflies easy to paint and lets me play around a bit with colour.

I guess its a chance to play a little and still have it look like something.

I did this one as I was thinking a lot about friends and close family that have passed away in the last few years. That also led me to think about other good friends I have not seen or talked with much in awhile either.

Many people always on my mind, and all the laughs we shared.

I was not having the best luck with some of the colour blends and what not but it turned out good I think.

Hello

Hello There,

I have been tinkering with many things over the years and one of the things I do is paint. I also draw and play guitar. I decided that I would just like to have a spot some place to show off some of my paintings. Nothing fancy just colour spread out to look like things.

I am by no means a pro or trained in any way. Yes I did take art classes in high school and loved it. I enjoyed the fact that with a pencil I could make lines and scribbles look like something.

So here it is my own little place to show off I guess.
